To make it easier for new fans to catch up, Square Enix has re-released every game in the 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 collections, with three different – and Very important – Games. If you skip one or two, you’ll probably enjoy the rest of the series, but along the way, you might find yourself too confused. But here’s my verdict: if you want to get the most out of the game you’re playing, I highly recommend that you learn at least the history of all 13 games. There’s still debate over whether you should play all 13 games in the series before playing any of the new Kingdom Hearts titles. However, it’s not as easy as starting at #1 and going to #3, as Kingdom Hearts has a total of 13 games and Square Enix shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Truth be told, there’s never been a better time to catch up with the rest of the Final Fantasy-meets-Disney series. How to take turns playing Kingdom Hearts is a question you may have been asking yourself lately, now Kingdom Hearts 4 is officially on the way.
